A bounce house should be the easiest part of your party — and it is, when it is set up right and watched properly. Here is what separates a professional rental from a risky one, and the simple habits that keep every child safe once the fun starts. Safety first, safety always.
Choosing a Rental Company
Before you book with anyone, these are the things that actually matter — and the standard we hold ourselves to on every single order.
- Real insurance, provided on request. A professional company is fully insured and will hand you a certificate of insurance without hesitation. We provide proof of insurance and workers' compensation any time it is needed.
- Trained, experienced operators. Setup and safe operation take real training. Every member of our crew completes a full training course, and we carry advanced safety certifications.
- Safety measures come first, not price. The right question is not “who is cheapest” — it is “who will set this up safely and stand behind it.” That is the standard worth booking on.
What A Proper Setup Looks Like
When our crew arrives, here is what a correct installation includes. Knowing what to look for helps you confirm it is done right — on our setups and any other.
- A tarp is placed on the ground first, to protect the base of the unit.
- The unit is staked down, or heavily anchored with ground weights or sandbags where staking is not possible.
- Once inflated, it is checked over for any rips or holes before anyone gets on.
- It is fully inflated, firm, and not sagging anywhere.
- The crew walks you through all operating and safety procedures out loud, and leaves printed instructions behind.
- You are encouraged to ask about anything you are unsure of — there are no bad questions when it comes to safety.
Safe Supervision During The Party
Once the crew leaves, safe play comes down to supervision. An adult should be watching the unit any time it is in use — here is what that looks like.
- Attend the unit at all times. Someone should always be watching while children are on it.
- Keep children age 3 and under out of the unit and the surrounding area.
- Group children by size. Keep big kids and little kids from jumping together.
- Never exceed the maximum capacity posted for the unit at any time.
- Do quick safety checks throughout the day — our crew will show you how at setup.
- Turn the unit off in high winds or bad weather, and clear everyone out until it passes.
- Follow every posted safety rule, and seek medical attention right away for any injury.
Rental Safety FAQ
How many children can safely use a bounce house at once?
It depends on the unit's size and the ages of the children, but the industry standard is six to eight at a time. Group children by size, keep under-3s out, and never go past the unit's posted capacity. More detail is on our FAQ page.
What happens if the wind picks up during my event?
Turn the unit off and clear everyone out until conditions settle. Inflatables should not be used in high winds or storms. If you are unsure, call us and we will advise you for your specific setup.
Do I need to supervise the bounce house myself?
An adult should always be watching while children play. For backyard parties you can hire our staff to attend the unit, subject to availability; for park, block-party and corporate events we provide attendants for all bouncers, slides and obstacle courses.
What surface can a bounce house be set up on?
Grass, cement, dirt or indoors. On grass we stake the unit down; on concrete, pavers or other hard surfaces we anchor it with sandbags or water barrels. We cannot set up on sand.
